Pride
Hi all –
This June marked the 51st anniversary of Pride Month.
51 years since that first brave group marched 51 blocks from Greenwich Village to Central Park.
I can’t help but be in awe of their courage. Their action. And their impact. It’s a moment that has inspired millions of people to action, and it’s a moment we should all reflect on.
When Elias and I started Drift, we knew we wanted to create a different kind of company. Not because it made good business sense, but because it simply made sense.
Here at Drift, one of our most important Leadership Principles is:
Create a Culture of Respect and Trust.
As leaders, it’s our responsibility to make our companies open, equitable, and inclusive. But we can’t do that without the help of everyone on our teams.
Earlier this month, we were joined by leaders from Gong, Go Nimbly, and Canvas to discuss how to better include, celebrate, and support LGBTQ+ employees in the workplace.
I encourage every one of you to check out that content, soak it in, and apply it wherever you work.
And when you’re done with that, check out Fast Company’s second annual Queer 50 and learn more about the top LGBTQ+ women and non-binary innovators in business and tech.
But don’t stop there, keep having conversations. Keep learning, asking questions, and exposing yourself to unique points of view all year long.
Happy Pride.
