Segmented email is a marketing email sent to a specific customer segment with the purpose of inciting an action from that segment in particular. The segmentation is done to narrow down the customer base so the email is more targeted and relevant. This way, engagement is more effective and useful for both sides – customers don’t get emails about things that don’t interest them and you realize your goals.
Some examples of segmented email:
- Asking for feedback people who have purchased an item in the last week
- Product use tips only for people who purchased a particular product
- Restock update to people who viewed a product that was out of stock
