A cycle count is the counting only a portion of a location, site or business’s inventory. There are several forms of “cycle counting” but regardless the idea is to count a small portion of the overall inventory on a frequent basis so as to increase overall accuracy. Depending on the type of business, companies that excel at cycle counting can often eliminate performing physical inventories.
