Mobile device management (MDM) services involve sourcing, provisioning, securing and managing handheld mobile devices (primarily smartphones and media tablets) to a third party. This may include PC cards, pagers, notebooks and other mobile devices. MDM services may also include support for any or all of these main areas: hardware (inventory, provisioning and asset), software (configuration management, software distribution and updates), security (block list, encryption, antivirus, authentication, jailbreak/rooted notification) and network service management.
