Annotations

Annotations were introduced by Google in Google Analytics back in 2010. It’s a feature that allows you to keep notes in the Google Analytics reporting interface (i.e., on a specific chart) so that you know the exact dates that important events occurred. For example, you can use an annotation before implementing a content audit to your website.
